The certification guarantees that the gold is produced ethically and ecologically in Finnish Lapland. The project benefits in addition to the environmental values also the whole chain of gold: gold prospector, further processing and the gold and jewellery smiths. The quantities of gold are certified, and they will remain identified until made jewellery.
The certified gold prospector is engaged in his/her actions to follow the mining and environmental legislations and the orders and instructions given by the controlling authorities. He/she is also aiming to carry out the mining guidelines given by The Gold Prospectors Association of Finnish Lapland and to develop the action more environmentally friendly all the time.
All gold prospectors, gold and jewellery smiths can join the Certified Gold of Lapland -network. The ones who get the certification, can use the brand and logo in their marketing.
